Telangana CS holds review on EODB

The Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion has communicated the final version of Business Reform action plan for improving Ease of Doing Business (EODB) for the year 2017 with 405 questions. Reforms pertaining 12 secretariat departments and 24 HoDs are included in the Business reforms action plan. 4 new departments are added. Telangana Chief Secretary S.P. Singh on Friday held a meeting to review the current status of compliance and further action plan on implementing the reforms.

The meeting was attended by B.R.Meena, Special Chief Secretary to Government, Revenue Department, A. Shanthi Kumari, Principal Secretary to CM and CEO, Chasing Cell, CMO, Rajat Kumar, Principal Secretary to Government, Labour Employment Training and Factories Department,  Jayesh Ranjan, Principal Secretary to Government, Industries and Commerce Department, Navin Mittal, Secretary to Government, MA & UD Department, B. Janardhan Reddy, Commissioner, GHMC, M. Dana Kishore, Managing Director, HMWSSB, V. Anil Kumar, Commissioner, Commercial Taxes, P.K.Jha, PCCF, P. Satyanarayana Reddy, Member Secretary, TSPCB, Dr. T.K. Sreedevi, Director of Municipal Administration Department, G.Raghuma Reddy, Chairman & Managing Director, TSSPDCL, etc.,

In the meeting, Chief Secretary to Government reviewed the present status of compliance of each and every department and requested all the departments to issue necessary orders for compliance of all the reforms. The deadline for issuing all executive orders is 31-05-2017. The deadline for all the online systems to be put into in use is 30-06-2017. The Principal Secretary to Government, Industries and Commerce department informed that this year’s assessment will be based not only on the proofs submitted by the state government but also on the feedback received from the user. As the assessment is based on the feedback received from the user, Chief Secretary directed all the departments to create awareness on the reforms introduced by their departments and ensure that there is continuous usage of the reforms. Further, after all the online systems are put into use by 30-06-2017, all departments should use only online systems for their transactions and dispose of all the offline transactions from 01-07-2017.

The Chief Secretary further requested the Principal Secretary to CM, CMO, to have regular meetings with the departments, particularly with the lagging departments.

Price Water house Coopers has been appointed as the consulting agency for the EODB project monitoring services. The team from the consulting agency will co-ordinate with all the departments and facilitate smooth implementation of all the reforms. (INN)
