Ghaziabad: Ahead of Panchayat elections on October 9 in Khoda area here, extra police and provincial armed constabulary (PAC) force has been deployed to maintain law and order to ensure peaceful election, police official said today.
One company of PAC has been dispatched to Khoda area to assist local police and will be headed by Deputy superintendent of Police Atul Yadav, senior Superintendent of police Dharmendra Singh said.
In last 20 days nearly 1000 persons have been forced to sign personal bonds to maintain peace and harmony during elections, he added.
Out of a total number of 115 arm licenses in the area 109 have been deposited at concerned police stations, Singh said.
