Geeta Reddy misleading Assembly: FBV

Hyderabad, April 01: Several members of the Forum for Better Visakha (FBV) on Thursday came down heavily on Minister for Heavy Industries J. Geeta Reddy for what they termed misleading the Assembly by saying that no government land had been acquired for power and other major projects.

Stating that the Minister had resorted to bunch of lies on the floor of the House, the members told reporters here that as per GO Ms. No. 1106 and 1107, government land had been allotted to the power plants proposed by the NCC Power Projects and East Coast Power Private Ltd.

FBV members — K. Venkata Ramana, Dilli Rao, D. Butchi Raju, Hanu Rao, and Asha Parveen, who represent various NGOs, said Ms. Reddy had committed a breach of privilege by giving wrong information and asked her to retract her statement.

The members said 650 acres of government land was allotted for Komarada power project and a large extent of valuable land was given at a throwaway price to Hinduja National Power Company Ltd, Anrak Alumina Limited, Jindal South West Aluminium Ltd, and Divi’s Lab.
