Dhanbad (Jharkhand): Weaving bonds of communal amity, around 40 Muslim families in in the Vikhrajpur village of Jharkhand’s Dhanbad district have been involved in making floral garlands and decorative for Hindu gods and goddesses for the past four decades.
And on occasions like Ram Navami and Durga puja, the farmers decorates the temples free of cost.
Sheikh Samsuddin is a farmer whose families depend on flower cultivation for their livelihood said, “We supply flowers and garlands to a trader in Jharia township, who then sells the wreaths to agents of different temples as per requirement,” reported PTI.
Another Md Safi, who have been involved in the cultivation said that communal strife has never stopped them from growing or selling flowers.
