Gaza: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Saturday praised country’s security forces after the killing of 17 Palestinians in Gaza. He thanked his troops for “guarding the country’s borders” and allowing “Israeli citizens to celebrate the [Passover] holiday peacefully”.
“Well done to our soldiers,” he said. Over 1,400 Palestinians were wounded and 17 lost their lives in shooting done by Israel forces on Friday when unarmed Palestinians were peacefully demonstrating on Land Day along Gaza’s eastern border. Meanwhile, several right groups condemned the shooting.
“I strongly condemn the Israeli government over its inhumane attack,” Turkey President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Saturday during a speech in Istanbul. Jeremy Corbyn, the leader of the United Kingdom’s opposition Labour Party, described the Israeli army’s use of force as “appalling”, as per a report by Al Jazeera.

“The UK government must make its voice heard on the urgency of a genuine settlement for peace and justice,” he stated on Twitter.
Israeli forces fired rubber-coated steel bullets at protesters and used tear gas to push them back from the border area, according to the Palestinian health ministry.
