Tokyo, May 08:The east coast of Honshu island were yesterday rattled by an earthquake measuring 5.7 magnitude on the Richter scale in Japan .
The quake shook the site at around 4.52 local time (2052 GMT) Xinhua quoted the US Geological Survey as saying.
The epicentre, with a depth of 23.9 km, was initially determined to be at 40.25 degrees north latitude and 142.4527 degrees east longitude.
