New Delhi, October 01::A 21-year-old college girl killed in a freak accident Wednesday in Dev Nagar area of Karol Bagh in central Delhi.
According to the police, the victim, Simranjit Kaur, a third year Commerce student of Khalsa College Dev Nagar, was returning home from Tilak Nagar in a Blueline bus when the accident took place.
According to a senior police officer, Kaur had gone to the bus plying on route No. 218, from outside the university around 1:30 pm. “She was on the board foot. Was partially hanging off the bus. His head slammed into a stopped bus parked at the following DTC bus stop when the blue line whizzed past the DTC bus,”the officer added. Kaur was taken to one a local hospital but was declared brought dead.
Prasad Nagar police have arrested the driver of the Blueline bus, Rajendra, a resident of Paharganj, on charges of reckless driving and rash.
