London: The government of France has rejected an asylum request from Wikileaks founder Julian Assange saying he is not in “immediate danger”.
According to The Guardian, Assange wrote an open letter to French President François Hollande requesting his government to grant him refugee status.
Hollande said in a statement issued by the Élysee palace that “France cannot act on his request.”
Assange has been staying at the Ecuadorian embassy for more than three years to avoid extradition to Sweden. (ANI)
