New Delhi: An OLA cab driver was allegedly assaulted by four Nigerian students. They also fled with the vehicle after dumping the driver in Noida area of the National Capital Region near Delhi, the Noida police said on Tuesday.
The incident took place on Tuesday night near Akshardham Mandir on the border of Delhi-Noida link road when the Nigerian nationals booked the OlA cab and boarded it, as per the police.
“Soon after boarding the vehicle, they overpowered the cab driver Ankur, a resident of Kankankheda Meerut, and asked him to drive to Greater Noida. A case in this regard under section 352 (assault) has been filed and further investigation is on to trace the culprits,” informed Kasna Police station in-charge Jitendra Kumar, Indian Express reported.
On reaching near Ryan School in Greater Noida, they threw the driver out of the cab and ran away, Kumar said, adding police is investigating the matter.
