Hyderabad, January 28: The Hyderabad Police has apprehended four criminals, allegedly associates of Dawood Ibrahim, at Lunger Houz here.
Two hand-swords and one dagger were recovered from their possession, Police said.
The criminals arrested yesterday, were identified as Md.Ibrahim (32), Mirza Asad Baig alias Sohail(30), Md.Imran alias Hathodi Imran (21) and Sikander Bin Sayeed (23).
They were reportedly plotting to kidnap city-based businessman Mateen Nawab for ransom.
The accused were recently arrested for charges of murder in the limits of Chandrayangutta and Golconda police stations.
During their stay at Chanchalguda Jail, they came in contact with one Abdul Qayyum Bhai (47) of Mumbai, a former aide of underworld don Dawood Ibrahim. Abdul is said to be involved in the Mumbai serial blast case, besides several kidnapping cases.
The accused, looking for making easy money after getting out of jail, hatched a conspiracy to abduct wealthy businessmen for ransom.
At the behest of Abdul Qayyum, the four were trailing Mateen Nawab.
The arrested accused have been handed over to SHO, Humayun Nagar Police Station for taking necessary action, Police added.
