Health Minister Dr C Laxma Reddy today said Indian medicine will get a big push at all Public Health Institutions across the State with opening of five new AYUSH (Ayurveda, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy) hospitals in the State very soon. He said the State government will make adequate allocation of funds in the budget to give a big push to Ayush hospitals. He also admitted that AYUSH department has not so far received needed funds in the previous budgets.
The Minister participated at Government Ayurveda College and Hospital, Erragadda, to mark the occasion of National Ayurveda Day-2017. He said the State government has a plan for overall improvement of AYUSH department. Lakshma Reddy said efforts were being made to set up AYUSH departments in almost all the major teaching hospitals, which used to offer Allopathy treatment to the patients. The minister said already AYUSH medicine is part of exclusive wellness centers that cater to the needs of State government employees and journalists under Employees Health benefit scheme.
