KCR scared of Centre, CBI: Jaipal Reddy

Former Union minister S Jaipal Reddy today said Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao was scared of BJP-led Union government and Prime Minister Narendra Modi because the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and CBI know the “wrong-doings” of Chandrasekhar Rao.

Speaking to the media at Gandhi Bhavan here on Tuesday, Jaipal Reddy said the Kalwakurthi Lift Irrigation Project was conceived during T Anjaiah government in 1982. He ridiculed the ministers for claiming that they executed the project. He pointed out that KCR was not even an MLA when Kalwakurthi project was designed. Disputing the ministers’ claims, Jaipal Reddy said the government was filling the tanks using canals and water has not yet reached the fields. He demanded that the TRS government complete the projects at least now. He also objected to the TRS government saying the Congress party was obstructing the irrigation projects.

The former Union minister said he doesn’t know whether TTDP MLA A Revanth Reddy was joining the Congress. But the party high command would decide on admission of political leaders of other parties. Any political party, which has no truck with TRS or BJP would be welcome in the Congress, he said.

The senior Congress leader said the Union government was not decreasing prices of petrol, diesel even as crude oil prices were declining at international level. Besides, the Centre was imposing huge taxes on petrol and diesel and creating problems to the common man. The Modi government was using the revenue coming from petrol and diesel to fill the GDP losses, he said. Jaipal Reddy also took objection to UP Chief Minister Yogi’s statement that Taj Mahal was not part of Indian culture and demanded that Prime Minister Modi make his stand clear on Taj Mahal. He also said the BJP was trying to survive by creating communal differences among the people and Prime Minister Modi brought culture of threatening the media.

Kalwakurthi MLA Vamshichand Reddy alleged that all the TRS MLAs, including ministers, were indulging in corrupt practices. (NSS)
