Chittagong, January 19: A fighting unbeaten half-century from Mahmadullah brought Bangladesh to within 15 runs of India’s first innings total as Bangladesh reach 228/8 at Tea on the third day of the first Test at the Zohur Ahmed Chowdhary Stadium in Chittagong.
Mahmadullah (60*) added 108-run for the seventh wicket with wicket-keeper Musfiqur Rahim (44) as Bangladesh recovered after the pair joined at 98/6.
Amit Mishra (2/57) finally broke the partnership with the score at 206 with Sehwag taking the catch at midwicket after a miscued shit from Musfiqur.
Sahadat Hossain (11) fall just before tea edging it to Yuvraj at point of a spinning Mishra delivery.
Earlier resuming at 59/3 Bangladesh batsman never really settled down against a discipline Indian seamers and after adding just 9 more runs Mohammad Ashraful (2) departed falling to Ishant Sharma (2/47).
Skipper Shakib Al Hasan (17) was the next to go as Virender Sehwag pulled off a superb catch of a Zaheer Khan (3/53) delivery to pick up the price Bangladeshi wicket.
Sreesanth (1/49) soon join the action as his superb delivery found Raqibul’s edge giving a straightforward catch to Dinesh Karthick and reduced Bangladesh to 98/6.
