Hyderabad, July 03: Film actor and TRS Lok Sabha member from Medak, Vijayashanthi on Friday declared that the state government had conspired to arrest her with false cases as the ruling Congress was bound to be defeated in the present by-elections in the Telangana region.
Addressing media persons at her residence this morning, the TRS leader lashed out at the ruling Congress party for adopting democratic methods to prevent the victory of the TRS in the by-elections.
” I am prepared to get arrested but will not rest till the goal of a separate Telangana is achieved “, she observed. Pointing out that the election code was not applicable in Hyderabad as no elections were being held here, Ms. Vijayashanthi said that she had only used a Telangana slang which was common in the region and used by one and all. For this the police, a tool in the hands of the Congress government, had foisted an illegal and false case to prepare the ground for her arrest, she contended.
The Medak MP further said that the atrocious behavior of the police was clearly exposed when they had searched the almairahs and water tanks as if she was hiding there to escape arrest.
I am a responsible woman MP and the shoddy and atrocious treatment meted out to me should make the woman Home Minister of the state to bow down her head, she said. The TRS leader said that she was proceeding to Siddipet from where Mr. Harish Rao was filing his nominations and then proceed to Dubbaka to take part in the rally by the weavers. The police might arrest her at any time and she was not afraid of any such action, she added . (NSS)
