Morigaon, September 08: A fight over a T-shirt cost a college student his life when his classmate allegedly set him on fire in Kamrup district of Assam, police has said here.
Nitumoni Das and his classmate Prafulla Das, both first year students of Dimoria college, had an altercation over the T-shirt in their hostel last night, police said.
Prafulla in a fit of rage poured kerosene on Nitumoni and set him on fire, police said.
Three students rushed to the rescue of Nitumoni. The victim who was critically injured was rushed to Gauhati Medical College Hospital.
Nitumoni, who hails from Morigaon, succumbed to his wounds this morning at the hospital, police said.
A case was registered at Khetri police station, they said, adding the main accused Prafulla and the three other students are absconding.
