Srinagar, January 06: At least two policemen were killed, and two civilians injured in a fidayeen attack near the Punjab Hotel in the heart of the city on Wednesday.
A gunfight is on between police and militants after the separatists struck at the Lal Chowk area.
At least 20 guests were reported to be staying in the hotel.
Four men, including a police constable, were injured Wednesday after separatist guerrillas lobbed grenades and fired at Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) troopers at Lal Chowk in the heart of the city here, authorities said.
Among those injured were two civilians and a camera-person of a news channel.
Senior police officers and CRPF personnel have rushed to the spot and the hotel has been cordoned off.
