Islamabad, March 19: Former Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has said that a small group of politicians in the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) is damaging the country’s democratic system and determining the nation’s fate.
Qureshi held what he called “few rotten eggs” within the government responsible for the present mess in the country, and demanded cleansing of the political parties.
“A very small group is bent upon damaging the whole democratic system. It is now time for honest, clean and visionary leaders to come forward and to remove the real rotten eggs from the party,” the Nation quoted Qureshi, as saying.
He further denied that he was rebellious, saying that he had been highlighting the issues from the very beginning.
“A time will come when ideological party workers will vindicate my stance”, the former Foreign Minister said.
