Municipal Secretary Navin Mittal today said that a plan is on cards to set up clean authority in the state. He held a high level review meeting with a 10-member Japanese delegation comprising Clean Authority of Tokyo met hi at Secretariat and discussed about the steps to be taken to set up clean authority in the state. Later, Navin Mittal said that it was decided that a feasibility study will be undertaken to cover the details of input and output conditions, investigations on suitable specifications, identification of the equipment suppliers and civil contractors. It will also include financial analysis, land requirement and water requirement etc. The type of scientific equipment additionally needed by TSPCB for achieving the propose MSW goals will also be part of the feasibility study Mittal said.
He also said that the Japanese delegation during their three day tour have visited the three waste processing locations at the Transfer station at lower tank bund, 11 MW RDF power plant at Bibinagar and the Hyderabad Integrated Waste Management Facility at Jawahar Nagar. The team also visited the TSPCB office and the laboratory to understand the facilities available for testing and appreciated the same. Mittal assured the Japanese delegation to extend all the required support and information to carry feasibility study. TSPCB Member Secretary Satyanarayana Reddy, Additional Commissioner GHMC Ravikiran and other officials were present in the meeting. (NSS
