Alleging that the officials were not giving pass books to the farmers in the name of land records purification program, Congress MLC Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy said that the farmers were facing hardships as they have no pass books.
Speaking to the media at Assembly Media Hall on Sunday, Ponguleti asked Thahasildars to issue certificates to farmers examining the records with old pass books or new ones. The farmers were facing hardships to sell their lands as they have no pass books. The officials were keeping issue of pass books in pending. He asked the officials concerned to concentrate on the issue.
Alleging that seed companies were distributing spurious seeds, Ponguleti said that the farmers found that Nagarjuna See Kn-10650, 633, 634 seeds were spurious. The scientists were examining the seed, he said and demanded the government to order inquiry into the selling of spurious seeds. He asked the state government to purchase the wet grains as rains were coming continuously. He demanded the state government to monitor the cotton sales and not to consider the wet percentage in the grains while purchasing them. He asked the state government to bring Seeds Act before coming Legislative Council session, and demanded the state government to order inquiry into the incidents against women Collectors facing in the state.
