Fahim, Sabauddin taken back to Uttar Pradesh

Mumbai, March 16: Two accused in the 26/11 terror attack case were taken back to Uttar Pradesh today following their acquittal by the Bombay High Court.

Fahim Ansari and Sabauddin Ahmed were taken back to Uttar Pradesh after the Bombay High Court upheld the trial court’s order of acquitting them for want of evidence and prosecution’s failure to prove the case against them.

“They (Fahim and Sahabuddin) were brought by the police officials as they (the state government) had filed an appeal against the trial court’s order of acquitting and since even the Bombay High court also acquitted them they were sent back to Uttar Pradesh,”Arthur Road Jail Superintendent Rajendra Damane said.

The duo were brought to Mumbai on September 23 after an appeal was filed.
