Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao today directed the Finance Secretary to release Rs 100 crore more for speedy completion of Dindi Lift Irrigation scheme. On completion, the project would distribute irrigation waters for 3.5 lakh acres in Ranga Reddy, Nalgonda and Mahbubnagar districts.
At a review meeting with officials at camp office here, the Chief Minister asked the Finance department officials to release immediately Rs 100 crore in addition to Rs 75 crore already released for the prestigious project. The officials should prepare an action plan for the project with designs for distributing drinking waters for Hyderabad and a 6 km long underground tunnel, he said. The Chief Minister also directed the officials to ensure lower submergence and avoid loss to more number of the villages under the project. The Dindi project will distribute waters to fluoride-hit Devarakonda, Munugodu, in Nalgonda, Mahabubnagar and Ranga Reddy districts. The Chief Minister has ordered land acquisition process immediately for construction of reservoirs in Singarajupally, Gottimukkala, Krishnarampally, Sivannagudem in Nalgonda district and Arkapally in Mahbubnagar district. KCR asked the officials to give suitable compensation to the victims with land and asset value. Each family should be paid Rs 5.04 lakh to each for construction of a house and registration should be done avoiding delay. The irrigation officials should submit estimation details to the revenue department to take further steps. (NSS)
