Johannesburg : Former Manchester United manager David Moyes has offered his support to embattled Louis Van Gaal, saying that the Old Trafford club should not sack the Dutchman.
Van Gaal’s job has been under scrutiny following his side’s repeated poor performances in the Premier League, with former Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho reportedly in talks to replace him at the Old Trafford.
United’s recent 2-1 defeat at the hands of Danish club Midtjylland in the first-leg of their last-32 in Europa League tie has put further misery on Van Gaal.
The 52-year-old insisted that his former side should keep faith on Van Gaal, calling on United to avoid turning into a sacking club,Sport24 reported.
Moyes further admired Van Gaal for his fighting spirit, saying that he always sticks up for his side even in most dreadful situations.
United, who are currently fifth in Premier League table, will play the second leg against Midtjylland at Old Trafford on Thursday. (ANI)
