GHMC Election Authority Dr. B. Janardhan Reddy has appealed all the citizens of the GHMC through Residential Welfare Associations that everyone must come forward to cast their vote for the ensuing election which is scheduled to be held on 2nd February.
Dr. Janardhan Reddy held a meeting with civic societies and various Residential Welfare Associations in the GHMC limits and interacted with all the representatives on the role they are expected to play to increase the poll percentage. He said RWAs should cooperate in distribution of voter slips in their respective colonies.
The representatives have also suggested that heads of all the educational institutions and Government Departments must take oath to cast their vote on January 25, the National Voters Day, and also on the Republic Day Celebrations so that younger generation and students would learn about the value of their votes.
Additional Commissioners Surendra Mohan, Shiva Kumar Naidu, Shankaraiah, C. Ramakrishna Rao, N. Ravi Kiran and various representatives from Residential Welfare Associations have participated in the meeting. (INN)
