Gurgaon, December 01, 2015: On ‘World AIDS Day,’ India’s leading real estate developer, Emaar MGF Land Ltd, reinforced its commitment to World Health Organization (WHO)’s ‘Getting to ZERO’ campaign.
Various activities were organised in project sites in Gurgaon and Mohali to create awareness amongst labourers, employees and people in the immediate vicinity about HIV/AIDS and the preventive measures to control its spread.
The real estate company organised AIDS awareness and education sessions, and health check-up camps, for labourers at its various project sites such as Capital Towers, Marbella, Palm Garden, Imperial Garden, Digital Greens in Gurgaon, and Mohali Hills in Mohali.
They also conducted HIV/AIDS awareness marches from the project sites to respective labour colonies and the neighbourhood.
Enthusiastic site workers participated in multiple activities like Slogan, Poster and Banner making, Competitions and Quiz on AIDS awareness and safety.
Baljot Gill, Vice President-Projects, Emaar MGF Land Ltd, highlighted the importance of this campaign, saying “We at Emaar MGF believe that an interdependent and healthy society can prosper by walking together while caring for each other. We envision an AIDS-free generation, and it is through these small but significant steps, that we can do more, do better and reach out further to promote awareness about this pandemic and help our workers & employees lead a healthy, safe and productive life.”
The day-long campaign concluded with distribution of sweets and contraceptives, promoting the message of healthy living.
These initiatives were organized in collaboration with National AIDS Control Organization (NACO), and doctors from Haryana Government Aids Awareness Program, Samarth NGO, and local hospitals.
Emaar MGF, renowned for providing premium quality living spaces to its patrons, has been regularly organising several social engagement programs, such as blood donation camps, alongside celebrating public events such as World Environment Day, National Safety Day and Week and World Quality Day at its project sites pan-India.
