Telangana BJP president Dr K Laxman has said the drought-stricken farmers in the State would have got great relief had Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and his ministers evinced same interest they paid on the Palair Assembly by-election.
Dr Laxman was addressing the protestors at Indira Park where the BJP organized dharna protesting against the criminal negligence of the State government towards the widespread drought situation in the State. He said he had not seen such a severe drought in the State as well as the inhuman government which remained cool even as the hungry farmers were dying like birds due to hot spell. Accusing the TRS government of remaining totally indifferent towards problems of drought-hit farmers, Laxman said the Chief Minister has been telling cock-and-bull stories before the Centre.
Alleging that the TRS government was feeling of shy of detailing the drought situation in the State, BJP MLA G Kishan Reddy demanded that the State government immediately disburse the Central funds to the affected districts. He also charged the State government with not releasing Central funds for drought relief measures and advised Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao to take lessons from his Maharashtra counterpart in solving the problems of the farmers in that State.
Speaking on the occasion, BJP leader and MLA Chintala Ramachandra Reddy demanded that Chief Minister KCR disclose the number of days he attended the Secretariat. Lashing out at the TRS supremo for admitting whosoever approached him into the party, Chintala warned that his mania of wooing leaders from other parties would turn into “Bhasmasura Hastham. (NSS)
