Rs 825 cr released for Pushkaralu: Indrakaran

Endowment, Housing & Law Minister A Indrakaran Reddy today said the State government has released Rs 825 crore for conduct of Krishna Pushkarams in Mahbubnagar and Nalgonda districts.

Accompanied by Health Minister Dr C Lakshma Reddy, MP Jithender Reddy, MLA Srinivas Goud and State Planning Commission Deputy Chairman V Prashanth Reddy and others, the minister toured Palamur district on Tuesday and inspected works related to pushkar arrangements from Jurala guest house. He said Governor ESL Narasimhan and Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao are likely to take a holy dip at Alampur pushkar ghat in Mahbubnagar when he festivities begin. A total of Rs 100 crore will be spent for Alampur temple development, he added.

The team also participated in some developmental works and laid foundation stones for pushkar ghats at some places in the district. After visiting the famous Jogulamba Temple in Alampur, the minister announced release of Rs 25 crore for its development. The previous governments failed to give priority to Krishna puskharalu, but now the TRS Government increased the number of Pushkar ghats to 51 from only 17, he said.

The festivities will be held for 12 days in a grand manner, Indrakaran stated. He also said Rs 85 crore would be spent for laying a four-way lane connecting Alampur and Kurnool crossroad and Rs 3 crore for Bala Brahmeshwara Temple development. (NSS)
