Hyderabad: Rachakonda police commissioner Mahesh Bhagavath on Thursday said they had made elaborate security arrangements for the successful conduct of ongoing Indian Premier League cricket matches at Uppal stadium. He said they had roped in the services of 2,300 police personnel as part of the security arrangements.
The CP said they had set up 300 CC cameras for surveillance and they would not allow laptops and other digital equipment into the stadium. Bhagavath, however, said there would be no ban on mobile phones and the usage of the ear phones. He said the stadium had a capacity of 38,000 people.
Effective bandobust arrangements are made in co-ordination with various wings like CAR Special Parties-04, Inside Stadium Rope party and a party around the playing area CAR personal with T Shirts, B.D Teams all Access gates and Points, SOT Teams, SHE Teams, Mounted Police, Vajra & Gas Parties, Octopus-02 Units, AR Guards at all Parking Places, CCS Teams also deployed for preventing and detecting of property offences, IT Core Team for CCTV Surveillance Monitoring from control room, 04 Platoons of TSSP for armed guards at all entries and at Check Posts, Traffic wings 225 members, and L & O wings, (Total 2,300) Police Personnels are deployed/participated in this bandobusth.
