Mumbai: Producer Ekta Kapoor today said she has often asked father Jeetendra to feature in one of her shows, but the veteran actor is in no mood to make an acting comeback any time soon.
The 42-year-old media mogul said although her father, famously known as the ‘Jumping Jack’ of the ’70s and ’80s, might not be working in films, he is actively engaged in handling his real-estate business.
“I’ve asked him if he wants to (act in any of my shows) but he is quite content in his construction business. He is happy enjoying his time with his friends now. He is not acting but he is working anyway,” Ekta told.
The producer was in the capital to promote her upcoming show ‘Kundali Bhagya’, which is a spin-off of a popular daily soap ‘Kumkum Bhagya’.
She said Jeetendra has been working in films when he was in his early 20s and it only makes sense that he enjoys his free time now.
“He has worked in the industry from the age of 21. And there comes a time when you can only request your parents, not force them. I think he’s wants to lead a relaxed life now and I think we have to give him that. He had a four-decade-long career and he starred in over 200 films to make our lives, so I think we can let him relax now,” she said.
Jeetendra, who has worked in films ‘Humjoli’, ‘Parichay’, ‘Himmatwala’ and ‘Geet Gaya Patharon Ne’, has also made cameo appearances in daughter Ekta’s shows like ‘Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi’ in the past.
