Los Angeles: An Egyptian flight student is expected to appear at a deportation hearing after he was investigated by federal agents for posting threatening comments on his Facebook page about Republican presidential hopeful Donald Trump.
Emadeldin Elsayed has a hearing scheduled today before Immigration Judge Kevin Riley in Los Angeles.US Secret Service agents interviewed Elsayed in early February about the post.
Authorities told him eight days later that federal prosecutors were not charging him with a crime but his visa to attend flight school had been revoked.
Immigration authorities then arrested him. Elsayed’s lawyer says the 23-year-old wrote he was willing to serve a life sentence for killing Trump and the world would thank him. During his campaign, Trump has called for temporarily banning Muslims from entering the country.
