Cairo: Marriage of a 12-year-old boy with a 16-year-old girl has sparked a new controversy in Egypt. According to sources a marriage took place at Al- Faiyum near West Cairo. The age of the groom is just 12 years while the bride is 16 years old. The marriage is being widely discussed on social media and the parents of the bride and groom are being slammed.
Two days ago Nikah of 12-year-old Ahmed Shaban was solemnized with a bride four years elder to him. However parents say that the marriage is just a formality and the children will celebrate the marriage according to their wish after they reach the age of 18 years.
