The Mayor, along with senior officials of East Delhi Municipal Corporation, paid a visit to the girl at GTB Hospital and also met her parents. Malhotra said he had met the ACP of the area to know about the further course of action in the case.
“All angles of crimes would be investigated and if involvement of any other person is suspected or established, he be also brought to books as per laws,” the Mayor was quoted as saying in a statement by EDMC.
Malhotra appealed to the police to ensure safety and security of all citizens specially women and girl child in the ongoing festive season as events like ramleelas and melas are being organised in almost every locality.
The five-year-old girl was raped by a co-tenant and two of his associates at a slum cluster in east Delhi’s Anand Vihar area on Friday. The girl’s parents are labourers and she was alone at home when the accused lured her to their accommodation just above the victim’s house and raped.
