Hyderabad: TRS senior leaders Dharamapuri Srinivas and Capt. Lakshmikantha Rao took oath as the members of Rajya Sabha on Tuesday.
They were administered oath by Rajya Sabha chairman Hamed Ansari in the Parliament Bhavan. Meanwhile, Railways Minister Suresh Prabha and YSRCP leader Vijayasai Reddy also took oath as Rajya Sabha members from Andhra Pradesh.
Speaking to media persons later, Srinivas said that he was selected by Cheif Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao for better representation of issues concerning Telangana State and he would strive hard to achieve the dream of Bangaru Telangana.
Speaking after taking oath, Vijayasai Reddy said that he would try to introduce a private member’s bill against defections. He would also strive to put pressure on the Centre for the implementation of the provisions in the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act. (INN)
