Hyderabad, July 10: Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee chief and candidate from Nizamabad Urban D Srinivas today met late YSR’s wife and Pulivendula MLA Vijayalaxmi (Vijayamma) at the latter’s residence at Banjara Hills here today.
Though the PCC chief claimed that it was just a courtesy visit in connection with yesterday’s birth anniversary of her late husband and former chief minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy, Kadapa MP Jagan Mohan Reddy’s camp followers are of the view that Srinivas’ meeting with Jagan’s mother is “strategic” and intended to derive some political mileage in view of the election.
It is learnt that the PCC chief had been, for the past two days, seeking an appointment to meet Vijayalaxmi. YSR’s widow was not in a mood to meet anybody but agreed to meet Srinivas when he called her up this morning. Srinivas, during the meeting which lasted for about 15 minutes, enquired about her health. Jagan’s Odarpu Yatra did not come for discussion, it is learnt.
