Mirchowk Police along with South Zone Task Force unearthed a drug peddler gang consisting of five members and recovered 850 grams of Ephedrine drug today at Kalikhabar road.
While Mirchowk Police and South Zone Task Force Staff were on patrolling in the morning, they received credible information that some persons are transporting the Brown sugar in a bag and may exchange it with cash at MGBS Out gate, Kalikaber. On receipt of the information, SI of Police informed the same to his superior officer and obtained permission to verify the veracity of information, apprehend them and he along with staff reached the spot and secured the Pancha witnesses and all of them observed the area for suspicious movements and they noticed that some persons with a bag were standing near SBI ATM, opp MGBS out gate they are moving suspiciously.
Immediately, the Police party surrounded the said persons and apprehended them and taken into custody. On enquiry, the suspected persons disclosed their names as Pemmasani Kesava @ Shiva, native of Thirupati; Rovuthu Sri Pavan Kumar @ Pavan @ Danial; Rangula Suresh Reddy @ Rajesh Reddy; Peeta Heemanth Kumar Goud, all natives of Vishakapatnam; and Polapally Praveen Reddy, native of Hyderabad. On further enquiry they confessed that they were in possession of Ephedrine in their bag.
Madhava Reddy, SI of Police, Mirchowk PS conducted search in the presence of Gazetted Officer Venkanna Naik, Inspector of Police, PS. Dabeerpura, panchas and seized a bag containing ephedrine at the instance of Rovuthu Sri Pavan Kumar from his possession and subjected the seized drug under chemical test with Narcotic Drug Test Kit available with them. Test report resulted positive. The collected samples were sealed in presence of Panchas for further chemical test by the FSL. (NSS)
