The GHMC today officially launched cash-less transactions for all its utilities, following the demonetization of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes.
GHMC commissioner Dr B Janardhan Reddy held a meeting with heads of department, zonal, deputy commissioners, medical officers, valuations officials. The meeting was also attended by city mayor Rammohan.
Only 12 per cent people have been doing online transactions under the jurisdiction of GHMC and this per centage has to be increased in a phased manner, encouraging people to do cash-less transactions.
Cash-less facilities would be available in the centers that include are: official webside of GHMC www.ghmc.gov.in, myghmc mobile Aap, handheld missions, citizen service centers, Mee-seva, e-seva centres along with RTGS/NEFT. Citizens can pay their taxes in GHMC account No. 52082155599.
A special training was conducted to officials by GHMC IT cell today. Those who attended the training will in turn impart training to other staff in respective zones, the commissioner said. Janardhan Reddy said there were 350 bill collectors in GHMC and they would be given special swiping machines for doing cashless transactions.
On the occasion, the city mayor said the GHMC would conduct a survey in the city to know the exact number of traders and commercial places, as at present only one and half lakh trade licenses were issued, and this number may increase by three times more.(NSS)
