Municipal Administration Minister KT Rama Rao today directed officials to prepare a master plan for Musi River Front Development.
At a high-level meeting here the minister reviewed on Musi development survey and beautification of 50 lakes inside Outer Ring Road (ORR). KTR instructed the officials to make use of latest technologies such as drone for survey of the famous Musi River and other satellite mapping details for the purpose for 40 km long stretch. MAUD Minister while seeking to know details of present plans with the government has asked to conduct a feasibility survey for developing the Musi River front with attractive roads, estimation of cost and plan of design and structures of bridges along the stretch.
The Musi River will be developed with two parallel roads, beautification of bunds, elevated express way and joining the roads at the middle he said. Design of bridges along the existing roads should reflect historic prominence and culture of the city he said. Long time plan should be prepared to develop 50 lakes inside the outer ring road and beautification and development bunds and works related to only 20 lakes were completed so far. The rest of the works should be completed by removing hyacinth and garbage if any by next rainy season he said. The minister said that Durgam Cheruvu beautification works are going on fast pace and asked to start bund development works. He also asked to be cautious about land grabbing while developing the lakes by talking to collectors concerned. (NSS)
