New Delhi, March 24: Senior Congress leader Arjun Singh today wanted an early decision by party leadership on the recommendation by the Ranganath Mishra Commission on reservation for muslims and dalit christians saying “we cannot just sleep over it.”
“Well, I think the party always has special concern for those sections of the people. Since the party has already expressed special concern, we cannot just sleep over it (report),” 79-year-old Singh told PTI in an interview.
Noting that the party leadership would make up its mind and everyone would come to know about it, the former HRD minister said the views of allies like the DMK and Trinamool Congress werealready known.
The Congress has so far remained ambivalent on the issue of Ranganath Mishra Commission report with a section feeling that it is a ticklish matter which needed to be handled with care and caution.
