Doctors oppose State move on appointments

Hyderabad, June 19: The Andhra Pradesh Government Doctors’ Association has opposed the government’s move to appoint doctors who have done courses like hospital administration and public health, to the post of Director and Superintendents.

At an emergency meeting of the APGDA’s city units and central executive here on Thursday, members resolved that the government should take vertical seniority in accordance with a earlier Supreme Court judgment, as the sole criteria for promotions. Eligible could then be sent for short-term training programmes, they felt.
