Doctors demand the release

Hyderabad, March 11: Patients with serious burns, two women who were bleeding profusely and a heart patient were locked out of the emergency ward of the Gandhi hospital for over two hours from 2.30 pm, following a flash strike by the doctors. All the while, patients lay outside the emergency ward or in ambulances under the hot sun.

The doctors were demanding the release of their colleagues, who had been arrested by the police while taking out a procession in support of the ‘Million March’. They reopened the emergency ward only past 4.30 pm after the doctors were released.
