Chennai, March 12: The DMDK on Friday morning began its first round of interviews of applicants aspiring to contest the assembly elections.
Eager applicants gathered at the party headquarters in Arumbakkam, waiting for their turn to meet a panel of senior DMDK leaders, including party chief and actor-politician Vijayakanth and youth wing chief L K Sudheesh. The interviews of candidates for 41 seats have been staggered over three days and will end on Sunday.
The first round kicked off with interviews of applicants from the northern and western districts Coimbatore, Erode, Tiruppur, Salem, Perambalur, Ariyalur, Cuddalore, Tiruvannamalai, Villupuram and Tiruvallur. In all, over 79 constituencies were covered on the first day. The party is expected to cover applicants from Madurai, Theni and Virudhunagar on Saturday.
