Asserting that ‘diversity’ is India’s speciality, pride and strength, Prime Minister Narendra Modi today said that people are astonished by how we live despite so many differences in language, culture and food.
“People often talk like this and ask me, ‘Modiji tell me, how does your country with 115 crore population live with so much love?’,” Prime Minister Modi said while addressing the Indian diaspora at the Wembley Stadium in London.
Emphasising on India’s cultural and lingual diversity, he said, “Diversity is our speciality, our pride and our strength as well.”
Prime Minister Modi said that India is a wonder for the rest of the world with its widespread diversity.
The Prime Minister also expressed his concern over poverty in India, saying the nation has no right to stay poor.
“We have been nurturing poverty for no reason. Don’t know why we are having fun in luring poverty,” he said.
Prime Minister Modi thanked his British counterpart David Cameron for the warm hospitality and welcome extended to him during his visit to the country.
“But this respect is not for just one person. This respect is for the 115 crore Indians and India’s great cultural heritage,” he said. (ANI)
