Physically Disabled Walk will be conducted at Necklace Road on December 3, Government Adviser KV Ramana Chary today said.
Releasing a Physically Disabled Walk poster at Secretariat here along with program coordinator Kolli Nageshwar Rao and others, Ramana Chary said the government was doing its best for the welfare of the physically challenged. The walk is to mark International Disabled Day on December 3. The people should participate in the walk commencing at 7 am at the Necklace road and extend solidarity with the physically challenged, he said.
The walk is for creating awareness to physically disabled about the laws, benefits and schemes for their welfare. The government is for empowering the disabled through various schemes, he said. The disabled should lead a normal life unmindful of their disabilities by making use of opportunities, facilities and schemes, he said.
The society should come forward to help the disabled. Physically Disabled Rights Forum is making efforts to bring latest technology and science for the benefit of the disabled persons, he said. The walk will help address their difficulties and wipe out their tears, Ramanachary said. He also said to address their woes, efforts will be made to involve NGOs, Intellectuals, Media and other people to help them lead a normal life by availing facilities in education, health and others and opportunities.
