New Delhi, December 02: Two youths, suspected to be involved in Dhaula Kuan gangrape incident, have been arrested, while the third accused has surrendered himself late last night.
”We have arrested two suspects in the BPO employee gangrape case and have learnt that another person has surrendered himself in a Haryana court,” Deputy Commissioner of Police HGS Dhaliwal (South) said.
The two accused have been identified as Shamshad and Usman, both aged around 23 years, the senior official said and added that the two have a similar criminal background.
”They had been involved in another gangrape case earlier also,” he said.
The DCP informed that the accused were held from Mewat district of Haryana and the vehicle, used in the crime, has also been impounded by the Delhi police.
Police added that efforts were on to nab the other two rapists also.
Till last evening, police had released the sketches of three of the five suspects involved in the crime.
On November 24, a 30-year-old Mizo woman working in a Gurgaon call centre was dropped near her house in Dhaula Kuan area, along with a colleague, from where she was abducted and gangraped.
After being raped for at least 40 minutes, the victim was dumped in Mongolpuri area.
