Dhaka Test: Ishant, Zaheer puts India on top; Bangladesh 84/5 at Lunch

Mirpur, January 24: Pacers Zaheer Khan and Ishant Sharma struck early blows as India reduced Bangladesh to 84 for five at lunch on the opening day of the second and final cricket Test here today.

Zaheer and Ishant bowled superb opening spells, grabbing two wickets apiece, and they were also helped by some irresponsible batting by the home team’s batsmen.

Zaheer’s opening six-over spell produced two wickets for 22 runs while Ishant generated pace and bounce to also grab two wickets for 23 runs from his first spell of seven overs.

At lunch, Shakib Al Hasan (11) and first Test centurion Mushfiqur Rahim (22) were at the crease and the duo seemed set for a repair job with a sixth-wicket stand of 33 runs.
