Mirpur, January 27: India beat Bangladesh by 10 wickets and completed a 2-0 clean sweep of the series on the penultimate day of the second and the final Test at the Sher-e-Bangla stadium in Mirpur, Dhaka.
Bangladesh were bowled out for 312 with Zaheer Kahn picking up a career best 7/87 as the host slump to a dramatic collapse losing 7 wickets for just 22 runs in 67 balls to hand India the victory.
India needed just two runs for victory and Bangladesh handed them the required runs as they conceded two byes in the second ball of the Indian second innings as the visitors eneded the series on a high.
Bangladesh resuming at 228/3 from their overnight score continued to frustrate the Indian bowlers as nightwatchman Shahadat Hossain (40) and Mohammad Ashraful (25) frustrated the Indian bowlers adding 68 runs for the fourth wicket.
Harbhajan (1/75) finally gave India the much needed breakthrough as Shahadat skied one at long-on to give substitute Amit Mishra a simple catch. Ashraful departed in the very next over to Pragyan Ojha (2/76) beaten by a beauty as he could only edge it to MS Dhoni behind the stumps.
Ojha then pick up the price wicket of skipper Shakib Al Hasan (7) caught by Gambhir at square leg. Zaheer Khan (7/87) then cleaned up the Bangladesh tail picking up three wickets in four balls to dismissed Raqibul Hasan (5), Mahmadullah (0) and Shafiul Islam (0) as Bangladesh went into lunch at 312/9 a lead of 1 run.
Zaheer then came back to struck in the very first over after lunch to pick up his career best haul in Test cricket when he cleaned up last man Rubel Hossain (0) leaving Musfiqur Rahim (10*) at the crease stranded.
