Hyderabad: On the second day of the sessions of All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB), the host MIM surprisingly received a shock when the General Secretary, Maulana Wali Rehmani applauded the opposing remarks made by various opposition MPs in Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha but did not mention the name of MIM MP, Mr. Asaduddin Owaisi who had also opposed Triple Talaq Bill in Lok Sabha.
When Dr. Mateenuddin Qadri, member of TSPSC pointed out this omission, the secretary thanked him for pointing it out but did not give any assurance to correct this omission.
It may be mentioned that MIM had taken the responsibility of making all the arrangements for this meeting and had offered five-star hospitality to the delegates. Some of the responsible persons had expected that Hyderabad MP could be nominated as Secretary of AIMPLB since this post had fallen vacant after the demise of Mr. Abdul Raheem Qureshi, President of Tameer-e-Millat. Although Maulana Khalid Saifullah Rehmani is made Secretary of AIMPLB but he belongs to Bihar. Some of the members felt that a person from Hyderabad should have been given representation on AIMPLB as Secretary.
