Chandigarh: The matter of access to the chopper by Dera chief’s daughter is questionable. The Haryana government will investigate how Honeypreet Insan, the adopted daughter of Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh, was allowed to board the chopper that took him out of the Panchkula court complex after he was convicted on Friday.
Photographs taken in the court premises show that Honeypreet accompanied the Dera chief to court and also sat beside him in the chopper, as per a report by TOI.
Bar members said not only was Honeypreet allowed to accompany him, Gurmeet was also kept in a guest house before being shifted to jail.
“We had verified the facts from the authorities concerned on Friday at 8.30pm about any preferential treatment to the Dera head. However, we were informed that he has been shifted to jail like an ordinary prisoner,” observed the full bench headed by acting chief justice S S Saron.
Honeypreet is reportedly living in the house of a Dera follower at Rohtak. If her social media profile to be believed Honeypreet also seems to be a colourful personality like her rockstar ‘papa’.
She describes herself as an actor, director, and editor who has assisted her “guru papa” in his film ventures on Twitter. Honeypreet also boasted about breaking action superstar Jackie Chan’s world record by essaying over 21 roles in a film made by her Gurmeet, according to media reports.
Honeypreet had made headlines in 2011 after her husband, a Dera follower, approached the high court alleging that Gurmeet had sexually exploited her. Later, he withdrew the petition on the basis of an out-of-court settlement.
