News Delhi: Senior Congress leader, Mr. P. Chidambaram told that no one can deprive the credit to Mr. P.V. Narasimha Rao for initiating economic reforms but the demolition of Babri Masjid spoiled his career. Mr. Chidambaram further told that he does not think that no one can contradict that Mr. P.V. Narasimha Rao had started economic reforms.
Giving an interview to TV Channel, Mr. Chidambaram told that he and Dr. Manmohan Singh admitted on several occasions that without Narasimha Rao’s support they could not have initiated economic reforms.
It may be mentioned that Mr. Chidambaram was Commerce Minister in Mr. Narasimha Rao’s Govt. when asked why not Congress celebrate Mr. Narasimha Rao’s birthday whereas BJP does it. He told that BJP celebrates even its bitter critics. He further told that the last rituals of Mr. Narasimha Rao were performed in Hyderabad with full State Honours in which PM Dr. Manmohan Singh and Sonia Gandhi participated.
