New Delhi: Delhi government today organised its sixth Car-Free Day from Golchakkar Loni Road to Shahdara Flyover T-point in the eastern part of the city here.
A tree plantation drive was also carried out in the area on the day as vehicles went off the road.
Transport Minister Gopal Rai, who participated in the programme, said people should use public transport instead of their personal vehicles once every month.
The Delhi transport department holds a car-free day on the 22nd of every month in different areas to encourage people to use public transport.
The first car-free day was organised from Red Fort to Bhagwan Das Road.
