Defections: HC serves notice on Speaker

The High Court served notices on the Speaker, who issued orders allowing the admission of Telangana TDP MLAs into the ruling TRS party, here on Monday.

It may be recalled that 12 TTDP MLAs gave a letter to the Speaker stating that they were merging their party into ruling TRS party. Reacting on it, Speaker S Madhusudhana Chary issued orders stating that the TTDP MLAs merged their party into the TRS. But the TTDP argued that the Speaker’s orders were invalid.

TTDP MLA A Revanth Reddy approached the High Court on the Speaker’s directions. Admitting the TTDP’s petition, the High Court heard the  case on Monday and served notices to the Speaker. The Court adjourned the case for two weeks. (NSS)
